TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in White Plains, New York, 10601 About The Position Job Title: Nursing Technician Job Specialty: Nursing 4E Stepdown Job Duration: Not specified Shift: Day Mon-Fri, 6 AM - 6 PM, 13 shifts per month, alternating weekends and holidays Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or with patient care preferred License: Not specified Certifications: BLS certification (through American Heart Association) required; Nursing Technicians hired before 4/1/17 must have BLS certification by 4/30/18. Those hired on or after 4/1/17 must have certification upon hire or obtain it during orientation. Must-Have: Completion of Nursing Technician Orientation Job Description: - Perform patient care and non-patient care functions within scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. - Conduct Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), monitor vital signs, and measure inputs and outputs (I&O). - Perform EKGs, document vital signs and I&O. - Assist with simple dressing changes, specimen collection, meals, errands, and patient or specimen transport. - Ambulate patients, provide urinary drainage care (indwelling, external, suprapubic), and assist with colostomy care. - Apply binders, weigh patients, assist healthcare providers with procedures and physical exams. - Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors. - Participate in Performance Improvement Initiatives and utilize appropriate decision-making processes. - Collaborate and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. - Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings as required. - Utilize cost containment practices and adhere to all policies and procedures, including dress code, conduct, and customer service. - Rapidly assess and respond to situational needs of patients, staff, and visitors, and adapt to a high-stress environment with frequent interruptions. - Serve primary populations, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and adapt to cultural and communication needs.
